This is a website for teachers, educators and parents. This website contains many resources that can be used by physicians (e.g. Health Information Sheets related to birth control methods and sexually transmitted infections) as well as local resources in zones. Physicians can also refer parents to the parent portal for information on talking to their children and youth about sexual health.

A continuing medical education learning program on healthy pregnancy weight gain is available for free to all healthcare providers in Alberta. The program meets the accreditation requirements of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (1.5 Mainpro+ and 1.5 MOC Section 3).
Safe Infant Sleep resources (brochure and bookmark) are available to order to disseminate to parents and caregivers of children up to one year of age. In addition to these resources, AHS also has a Safe Infant Sleep Policy.
Resources to promote a standardized approach to child growth measurement. These resources were developed to ensure consistent child growth measurement in all settings (e.g., public health, acute care, and primary care).
Resources for measuring infants, preschoolers and children up to 18 years are available for ordering (UserID: healthypublic; password: healthy2013). In addition to the resources, AHS has a Childhood Growth Measurement Protocol.
Two online education resources are available for all perinatal health care providers across Alberta: Breastfeeding Foundations and Managing Breastfeeding Challenges and Supplementation. These resources are hosted by the Alberta Perinatal Health Program, are part of perinatal health learning modules called STORC (Strategies for Teaching Obstetrics to Rural and Urban Caregivers).

This resource is a practical guide for pregnancy and being a parent. It provides comprehensive and reliable information based on evidence and best practice for expectant parent, parents of children up to 6 years of age, and health care providers who work with expectant families and families with young children.

Preconception content integrated into a user-friendly question and answer online format. Interactive tools are included and targeted to the needs of two audiences- those “ready” to start planning a pregnancy and those “not ready” to have a baby. The concept of a “Reproductive Life Plan” was at the forefront of this initiative and focuses on healthy behaviors. The resource provides anticipatory guidance to men and women of reproductive age, whether they are currently planning a pregnancy or not.

This website has birth control and sexual and reproductive health resources that are developed in collaboration with stakeholders from across the province. Medical review is included as part of the quality assurance process for patient handouts. The resources can be printed and distributed to clients.
